What Women Should Wear For A Horseback Riding Activity

Tours in tropical destinations often include horseback riding. It’s a popular means of sightseeing among locals and tourists alike. If horseback riding is part of your activities during your upcoming getaway, you might want to continue reading. The following are some pointers on what best to wear when riding a horse.

You can be stylish during the rest of your vacation. But during horseback riding, it’s best to come dressed appropriately. Pass up wearing very loose-fitting garments and accessories. It’s likely that you will ride next to the trees. And it’s likely too that loose items will get stuck on the branches. Picture this: your elegant hoop earrings getting caught on branches. That’s not really going to be a pleasurable experience, is it?

There are also things you might want to consider when it comes to what lower garments to wear. Skip wearing shorts. Your legs might get scratched when you ride too close to shrubs. A pair of jean skinny or workout pants should be great. Wearing pants that are too loose or with bulky inseams can spell disaster to your inner thighs.

Skip wearing flip flops and open-toed sandals, and most especially shoes with very high heels. Now is the best time to wear women’s brown boots, with heels that are about an inch long. Why wear something with heels? They will prevent your feet from sliding through the stirrups, if ever they’re provided. It’s for the same reason why cowboy boots got heels.

Wearing a cowboy hat sure looks perfect on a picture. But it’s not going to protect your head should you fall off the horse. Wear a helmet throughout the horseback riding event. It doesn’t have to be an equestrian helmet. Just about any helmet will do. Don a cowboy hat during picture taking sessions with the horse, but wear a helmet during the ride for safety.

You should also wear sun block to protect your skin from the damaging effects of direct sunlight. Read the label: its SPF rating should be at least 15 or higher, according to dermatologists. Also, apply sun block at least 20 minutes before your trail ride, to make it more effective. Shirts with long sleeves won’t protect you from UV rays. Use BB cream with sunshield on your face, then put on dark sunglasses.

You want to remember your horseback riding activity as a pleasing experience. And not as a disastrous event during your tropical hideaway. Just make sure you include the items mentioned above in your suitcase.
